Jordan was kicked out of Surrey and we gave him a home and turned him into an international, he had the skill and we gave him the platform.

Sussex stuck by Salt when other counties would have moved him on a few years ago.

Topley was an injured wreck and we brought him in and got him fit.

Cricket is all about the money these days so Surrey, Lancashire, Middlesex and Notts will always offer more than teams like Sussex.

When I was growing up players stuck with their clubs for life now they bugger off when the cash is waved.

Real shame that. Cricket was the last bastion of sporting integrity.

On the other hand, maybe they felt objectified by the supporters at Hove and wanted to play the game without constant comments about their tight fitting flannels
